Victoria County United Way Raises $953,010
The Victoria County United Way has concluded its 2015-2016 Community Campaign, raising more than $953,010 to help improve the quality of life for children, teens, those in desperate situations and seniors.
“These are outstanding results by the many volunteers working on the campaign since last September, especially in light of the hit our regional economy took from the oil and gas downturn during this time”, said Dale Jones, Campaign Chair and Senior Vice President of klean corporation, international.
“As expected, some companies and individuals were personally impacted by the sudden economic downturn and could not make the same pledge this campaign year”, Jones noted, adding “the amount raised is about five percent less than the amount announced this time last year for 2014”.
“Victoria and the surrounding communities are filled with caring people who share their time, talents and resources with others less fortunate in our community by contributing to our local United Way”, he said.
Greg Westbrook, Chairman of the Board and Plant Manager of the DuPont Victoria plant, is especially thankful for the new contributors, many of them individual donors, who stepped up and helped fill the gap in a tough year. “From these individuals as well as from small businesses, large corporations and their employees, every gift makes a big difference in lives in our communities”, he said, adding, “Victoria County United Way leverages these gifts to make long lasting positive changes working jointly with our local partner agencies”.
The 2015 Campaign Leadership Team included these volunteers with key responsibilities:
Top 25 Division Co-Chairs - Dale Jones, klean corp. international and David Edwards, Wells Fargo

“The hard work by the campaign volunteers and the spirit of giving by companies, businesses, employees and individual donors makes all the difference”, said Dolly Stokes, Executive Director of Victoria County United Way.
